A retired businessman, William Higgins specialized in commercial and investment real estate for twenty-two years. After selling his business, Higgins was called by the Lord to share healing scriptures with the terminally ill and those who suffer from incurable conditions.

After graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center, he now devotes his energy and his resources to that call. In 1986, William Higgins joined a well-known organization, where he intended to provide opportunities for healing to those unable to be helped by medical science.

During his training, Bill made this clear to the chaplain of his class. However, after completing his training, he discovered that his particular calling, to teach faith for healing directly from the Bible to people who had no other hope for recovery, was neither supported nor accepted. Instead, he was accused of giving false hope to these patients and their families and instructed to restrict his assistance to preparing the terminally ill for imminent and inevitable death.

Higgins' heart remained set on bringing them the truth of God's Word for healing. Some twenty years later, God's will and His timing came together in the establishment of The Healing Foundation of America.
